Angelos Markoutsas
In March 2019 I was appointed Principal of PCSA, after having been asked by the CEO of The Priory Learning Trust (TPLT) to take on the position of Acting Principal since November 2018. I have been with the TPLT family for over 14 years now. I started my career as a teacher of humanities at PCSA in 2006 and stayed with the school for a number of years. Prior to coming back to PCSA I was the Vice Principal at Worle Community School.
I feel honoured and humbled by the trust and faith placed upon me by the TPLT, our parents and carers and most importantly the students. I am putting all of my effort into making PCSA the best experience for our young learners.

I am so pleased to have been voted as a parent governor in March 2021.
My professional background lies mainly within health and social care. I trained as a nurse, and then moved into the community where I managed a number of services for people with a learning disability. I currently work for the Care Quality Commission who are the regulator of Health and Social Care in England, as an inspection manager.
I am passionate about representing the unique vantage point that parents have when discussions are held about education. I ask lots of questions – my expertise does not lie in education, but I’m pretty clued up on what parenting a teenager through their secondary education all about and I’d like to think that insight will enable me to be an effective governor.
When I have spare time I enjoy baking, and when the weather permits, getting out in the garden. I’m no expert at either really but it feeds my wellbeing no-end.

Sharon Wood (Safeguarding Community Councillor)
I am exceptionally pleased to have been appointed as a parent governor to the Academy Council. I have two children at PCSA, one in year 7 and the other in year 9. I am very much looking forward to working with the Council to ensure that the school continues to develop and support the pupils in every way possible.
I have been working as a solicitor for the last 21 years and part of my skill is working within teams to solve problems and I look forward to bringing this experience to the Council. I am also very passionate about ensuring that children have the most rewarding experience possible at school so that they leave it as well-rounded individuals who contribute towards the school and community in the future.
In my spare time I volunteer at Weston-super-Mare Cricket Club where my other half and I run the BBQ to raise funds for the club. I am also the Treasurer for Friends of Priory. I enjoy watching all types of sport but particularly rugby and cricket although I am not that passionate about taking part!

I am delighted to have been appointed as a Parent Governor within the Academy Council, I have a daughter at PCSA currently in Year 8 and a son who will join PCSA next year.
I am a regular volunteer as an employer at the PCSA Year 10 Interview Day and have experienced the benefit this exercise provides to students, learning the path of identifying job opportunities to preparing and attending an interview, highlighting the importance of social and transferable skills alongside academic achievement.
I have worked in the Financial Services sector for 30 years and at present work as a consultant in the Chief Controls Office. I am passionate around ensuring all students are given the right support and direction to fulfil their educational opportunities and look forward to my skills and experience to be a positive influence within the governor role. In my spare time I enjoy reading and try to keep fit by running.

I am delighted to be appointed as a teacher Councillor, part of the Priory Community Council. I have a plethora of experience that I can bring to this position.
I have been part of The Priory Learning Trust since 2016 where I began my teacher training. In 2017, I was appointed a teacher in Humanities specialising in geography. Alongside my teaching responsibilities, I am a Head of Year and Safeguarding Officer, where I have been in the role for the last seven years. I have been Head of Year for both Key Stage and Key Stage 4 year groups. Currently, I am the Head of Year 9. I have dealt with a variety of issues and gained a wealth of experience, this has been paramount to my own professional development.
I recognise that relationships between staff and students are vital within any school to ensure a successful outcome for all. I believe this can be further encouraged to create a bigger support network which includes parents, to create a more established community within the local area. This is something I have successfully delivered by being a leading staff member of our newly established PTA, Friends of Priory.
Prior to embarking on my career In education, I spent five years working in the private sector as a town planning consultant where I secured contentious planning permission for national clients.

I am delighted to have been appointed as a non-teaching staff Councillor. I have worked at Priory School for 8 years within the SEN Department. I am a Year 11 tutor, a Teaching Assistant and the Dyslexia Coordinator across school. It is lovely to be so involved across the school, ensuring all children can access the curriculum that we supply.
I feel as though being part of the Community Council team will allow me to develop within the further school environment and community that I already work in. I want to make sure that we are giving our pupils the best education and school experience, as they only get to explore this time once.
