The competition was open to 11-16 year olds across the UK and they both received a certificate and scientific book.

Emma said “I was delighted to have been selected.”

Dorcas was “thrilled with my first prize”.

The awards continue on the success from last year where PCSA students won 1st place in the 12-16 category and a student from Castle Batch Primary School Academy gained 3rd place in the 8-11 year olds category.

Head of Key Stage Two Science Vicky Bush, who is also a former PCSA student, said: “This was an outstanding achievement. I am so pleased that I can work closely with University of Bristol to enable our students to access such an amazing competition.”

PCSA Principal Angelos Markoutsas said: “Well done to Dorcas and Emma for a truly superb achievement in such a prestigious university competition.”

PCSA and Castle Batch Primary School Academy are both part of The Priory Learning Trust.
