New: Brilliant student published in exciting new book
By Lilly-May, 12
A brilliant student won through thousands of entries to be published in an exciting new book.
Lewis, 12, of Priory Community School Academy, in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset had his story published in the book Unsolved which collected the best from across Britain.
Thousands of young people had entered the writing challenge for budding young writers aged from 11 to 18.
They had all all been given the theme of crime/mystery.
Principal Angelos Markoutsas said: “This is a tremendous achievement by Lewis. To be a published author so young is a tremendous thing.”
PCSA students also regularly publish their own books on Amazon which become one of the top in the Amazon charts at Christmas.
Lilly-May, also 12, said: “Here’s the twist: it was 100 words max. For some it must have been challenging. But the themes, the possibilities, the opportunities were ENDLESS!
“I myself took part in this competition. I decided on a paranormal romance- with a twist.
“To take part and share my writing was nerve wracking but ultimately, infinitely worth it.
“I think that what made it easier for me was having friends there to proofread and tell me ‘That will not work. Try this’.
“Maybe next time a competition like this is announced, you should give it a try! You never know, you might find that it’s something you can do well!”
