Principal Sally Taylor of Castle Batch Primary School Academy in Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset hosted BBC TV and radio as it launched the Teacher for the Day event.
Popular BBC presenters and journalists Fiona Lamdin and Martin Evans are covering the event for their channels.
The event, organised by The Priory Learning Trust, was a chance for people to experience what it is like to be a teacher.
The day involved sitting in on a lesson, talking to existing staff, and included a talk by Lisa Dadds, TPLT Director of Primary Education and Standards,
Jill Dando News reporters also met the BBC and covered the event.
Sally recently become the permanent Principal CBPSA after being an extremely popular teacher at the school since starting there in 1990.
She said: “Teaching for me is the best career in the world. There is no job more rewarding, fun and life-changing than inspiring and educating the next generations of children.”
TPLT is a fabulous place to work in the superb county of Somerset. The Trust has just won a prestigious business award in the Somerset Business Awards for its incredible HR and people enrichment.
Now they are recruiting for even more staff as the schools and the Trust goes from strength to strength.
TPLT aims to run similar days in their other schools during the next academic year.
Denise Hurr, Head of TPLT’s Training School Alliance, said: “Teaching is one of the most rewarding professions anywhere around.”
Castle Batch won a clean sweep of Good Ofsted ratings last year and is firmly at the heart of the North Worle community near to local secondary schools, Priory Community School Academy and Worle Community School Academy.
The school also has a new state-of-the-art building for Little Learners for 2 to 4 year olds which has further enhanced the CBPSA community.
The nursery is open 7.30am till 6pm all year round.
