RE: Year 11 Preparation for Success: After School Revision
Since September, we have been running a ‘Prep for Success‘ programme of after school events. Now that the mock exams have finished, this programme will continue and run right up to the exams in May. Please see the dates below. As previously, all faculty areas will offer after school sessions from 15:10 until 16:30 aimed to give further help and support to students. The Prep for Success events are not compulsory but students are strongly encouraged to attend all relevant sessions.
As shared previously, the Prep for Success events aim to:
· Offer help, support and reassurance to students.
· Support with revision of key topics.
· Develop students’ grasp of how to answer the types of questions they will face in exams.
As you can see from the programme below, each faculty area will run a number of sessions over the coming weeks. On these dates sessions will run relevant to the various courses within each faculty area. For example, students studying GCSE French will be able to attend sessions on the dates allocated to the Languages Faculty. If students are unsure of which dates to attend they should speak to their teachers, who will be happy to answer any questions.
These after school sessions are open to all Year 11 students. Students wishing to attend do not need to book in advance and are very welcome to turn up on the day. The sessions will take place in the relevant faculty area and teachers will be on hand to direct students to specific rooms.
In school, we will be promoting these sessions and encouraging attendance. Please join us in encouraging your child to engage with this. We are sure that it will be a significant help to them in preparing for a successful completion of their GCSE and vocational courses.
