Term 2 Update - Message from Chair of the Academy Council

To all our Parents, Carers and Students

From Mr. Rod Sibley - Chair of the PCSA Academy Council (Governors)

As you know, over the last four weeks Mr. Coles (Executive Principal - The Priory Learning Trust) and Mrs. Webb (TPLT - Standards Partner) have been working directly at PCSA in the absence of our Principal - Mrs. McBride. Thank you to both Mr. Coles and Mrs. Webb for this additional support. Both were at the excellent PCSA Awards Evening on 17th October. It has very much been - 'business as normal'.

Unfortunately, Mrs. McBride is still not well enough to return to school to resume her role as Principal in Term 2 - November 5th. To ensure that our Academy continues to provide the best outcomes for our students a decision has been made to appoint an Acting Principal, who will be in post until Mrs. McBride returns.

As part of The Priory Learning Trust we have been able to appoint from within our group of academies and I'm very pleased to say that Mr. Angelos Markoutsas will join us from the start of Term 2. Mr. Markoutsas will start as Acting Principal on Monday, November 5th, and will work closely with Mr. Coles and all other key staff in the Trust.

Before moving to Worle Community School, where he is the current Vice Principal, Mr. Markoutsas worked at PCSA as our Head of Humanities. He knows the PCSA site well and many of the staff and students, and is also extremely knowledgeable when it comes to the Trust way of working and is an expert on curriculum.

In his new role Mr. Markoutsas will also be supported directly by Mr. Uffendell, Vice-Principal, the PCSA Leadership Team and Mrs. Webb, who will continue to support the PCSA as a Trust Academy Standards Partner.

I believe Mr. Markoutsas is an excellent choice to fill this vital role. We look forward to working with him in Term 2.

Thank you for your support.

Rod Sibley

Chair of the Academy Council, PCSA
