Year 7 Students - Bookbuzz!
Bookbuzz is a great opportunity for our new Year 7 students to access reading at Priory Community School and is even more important now they are currently unable to visit the library to take out books.
In previous years we have invited Year 7 students into the library to choose a free book from an outstanding selection of titles. Once the requests are completed and the books are ordered and delivered we would normally invite them back in to collect their books and there is always a fun buzz of excitement during these days. Obviously we cannot do that this year so we are asking for help from Year 7 tutors so we can continue to provide Bookbuzz and free books to our students.
We have put together a powerpoint presentation that briefly explains Bookbuzz and shows the selection of books that are available for students to choose from. We do not want the book back, once they have it then is theirs to keep, we simply want them to enjoy it. Year 7 tutors will be sharing this powerpoint presentation during tutor time on Wednesday 11th November to still allow students the time to choose their book. Choices will be collated by the tutor and passed to the Library Team.
It is so disappointing not being able to roll Bookbuzz out in the usual way but with the help of the tutors we can ensure our students can still have the pleasure of having a new book to read that is their own.
