Britain’s favourite footballer backs Christmas giveaway of his motivational book

World football hero Marcus Rashford has backed the giving out of hundreds of copies of his book You Are a Champion to students at Christmas.
Students at Priory Community School Academy In Weston-super-Mare Somerset are giving out hundreds of copies of his motivational book to students this week.
When he heard about the kind and generous Christmas presents, Marcus Rashford liked the tweet.
In the book he tells young people: “I want to show you how you can be a champion in almost anything you put your mind to.”
He is a real life superhero in Britain and across the world, and has helped out hugely to make sure the lives of those less fortunate are made better.
Marcus MBE is famous worldwide for his skills both on and off the pitch – but before he was a Manchester United and England footballer.
Long before he started his inspiring campaign to end child food poverty, he was just an ordinary kid from Wythenshawe, South Manchester.
Principal Angelos Markoutsas said: “Marcus Rashford is a real life superhero and has achieved extraordinary things already in his life. “In the book Marcus is exploring the themes which we encourage our students in every single day – to dream big and to follow their dreams.”
In the book, the nation’s favourite footballer wants to show all young people how to achieve their dreams, in an positive and inspiring guide for life.
Written with journalist Carl Anka, You Are a Champion is packed full of stories from Marcus’s own life, brilliant advice and top-tips from performance psychologist Katie Warriner. It will show you young people to be the very BEST that they can be.
It shows kids how to:
– Dream big
– Practise like a champion
– Get out of your comfort zone and learn from your mistakes
– Navigate adversity in a positive way
– Find your team
– Use your voice and stand up for others
– Never stop learning.
Jill Dando reporters get to interview people in the community as well as high-profile celebrities.
In the last few years they have interviewed prime minister Boris Johnson on two occasions, once in Somerset and once in Downing Street. They have also interviewed TV legend Fiona Bruce and a NASA space astronauts.
With over five years of experience for some of the students in journalism, they are now featuring regularly on wider media such as BBCTV and ITV.
