Important Information for Year 9 Parents/Carers

Urgent Information for Year 9 for Wednesday 30 and Thursday 31 March 2022
Since the start of last week there has been an unprecedented increase in the number of PCSA teachers testing positive for Covid-19. Coupled with a significant decrease in the amount of supply teachers available, this has meant we have a very specific issue with the staffing of Year 9 on Wednesday 30 and Thursday 31 March. Due to the shortage of teachers and supply teachers, we have made the difficult decision to close Year 9 on Wednesday and Thursday and move to our remote learning offer for students in that year group.
While infection rates have been higher since half term, we have managed to maintain an in-person offer due to the flexibility and preparedness of our staff to go the extra mile, covering extra lessons and teaching combined classes. Unfortunately, the way in which infections have affected our staffing this time has not allowed us to maintain in-person learning for Year 9 for the next two days. We will of course ensure a strong remote offer and the quality of their experience and focus on their curriculum will continue online.
All students should log on to their Google Classroom to access their learning plan for Wednesday and Thursday. A reminder that students can follow their timetable and click onto the relevant classes in Google Classroom to access the work being uploaded by their teachers. This will be available to them tomorrow morning.
