Brilliant students marked Remembrance Day in a touching tribute involving Army, Air and Sea Cadets, the Boys Brigade and Scouts
Students from Priory Community School Academy joined 5000 students and 700 staff in schools of The Priory Learning Trust (TPLT) to pay their respects on Remembrance Day.
PCSA students and staff played a performance of the Last Post and then held a two minute silence.
PCSA Principal Angelos Markoutsas said: “It was wonderful to be able to gather together to remember those who have lost their lives in the wars.
“The students have been learning about the tremendous bravery of those who gave up their lives in service.”
Neville Coles, CEO of TPLT, said: “We are delighted to have been able to mark Remembrance Day across all our schools. We will never forget those who laid down their lives.”
Remembrance Day is always marked on November 11 and is a memorial to remember those members of the armed forces who have fought and died in the line of duty.
The tradition was first started by King George V in 1919 to mark the end of World War 1, with hostilities formally ended “at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month”, in accordance with the armistice.
